If you missed it, here are parts 1, 2, and 3 .
The bride had made herself ready and was mounted on a beautiful bay horse. Family and friends had gathered in a clearing in the woods. Bridesmaids and groomsmen were scattered throughout the woods with handheld drums and lanterns.
It was time…
Samuel’s mom kicked off the ceremony with a prayer and the blowing of a shofar.
Samuel then set a rhythm with his drum.
The groomsmen joined in, playing rhythms of their own. The woods were filled with a rhythm.
The bride appeared. (Kori’s photo)
The horse wasn’t so sure about all that music, but Jess took it all in stride!
I always love to see the groom’s expression when he sees the bride coming toward him.
Oh Jess!
The first thing they did in the ceremony was wash each other feet, as an act of humility and servanthood toward one another.
She started it, but we all joined in on the crying. ;)
After a few words from Jess’ dad, Samuel picked up his guitar to sing Jess a song he wrote for her. She had no idea this was going to happen.
Oh yeah, lots of happy tears…
I love the way she didn’t hold back. She just let herself feel it all. Her emotion was so beautiful.
Vows.
A time of passionate worship.
Their bridal party then surrounded the couple and prayed over them.
He’s about to kiss her for the second time!
Oh yeah…
The band started playing something like an irish jig, and the place erupted with joy and dancing!
Check back tomorrow for the rest of the wedding day!
