Equine Photography Experience “Heart of the Horse” Fall Workshop 2009
October 2-4, St. Cloud Minnesota
with Instructors Kimerlee Curyl and Shelley Paulson

You are invited to join us for a unique workshop, focused on exploring the relationship between horses and people through the medium of photography.

The “Heart of the Horse” workshop is geared toward experienced photographers wanting to take their equine photography to a deeper level of connectedness to the horse, and who want to learn more about capturing the deep bond between horses and those that love them.

This is not a “how-to” equine photography workshop. We will not be covering basics like timing, posing, etc. We want to empower people to move beyond the basics and technical issues into photographing horses from the heart.

We are excited to have Nita Jo Rush as one of our models. Nita and her horses will amaze you. They are an ultimate testament to the connection one can share with their horse. We will spend a day with Nita at her beautiful facility with her and her horses as our models. We will have a variety of different shoots set up within this one amazing location. Nita is a 3 star Parelli instructor and to watch her with her horses is pure poetry in motion.

There will be four exciting experiential photography sessions throughout the workshop, with a Saturday afternoon lecture by Nita Jo Rush. Sunday’s shoots will be a variety of breeds and locations, including liberty shoots with a beautiful Gypsy Vanner stallion, mares and babies. We will also have lots of group discussion and discovery time.

Photography sessions will include opportunities and topics such as:

  • Joining the herd
  • The horse/human bond
  • Respecting the horse
  • The “decisive moment”
  • Horses as poetry in motion
  • Blind Photography

Join us for this uplifting experience!
