If you missed it, here are parts 1 and 2. There will be 6 parts total – parts 4, 5, and 6 will be shared next week!

Today’s photos are from when Sam and Jess saw each other for the first time in a beautiful vineyard and hours leading up to the actual wedding.

The weather was just perfect and enhanced the glow between this beautiful couple.

Photographing a wedding party this large was challenging, but the location lent itself quite well to creative solutions!

If you missed it, here’s part 1.

Today, I’m going to share the “getting ready” photos from Jess and Sam’s wedding. I just happened to have a wonderful friend, Kori Hoffman, who lives in Charlotte, who is also a talented photographer agree to help me out for the day. I don’t know what I would have done without a second shooter! She focused on the guys during the getting ready photos and did a fantastic job!

(if you are viewing this on Facebook, please visit my blog to see the horizontal images at full size)

The significance of this text is amplified when you consider they only kissed once before the wedding. :)

The flower girls were from Israel! They are the daughters of a close friend who filmed the engagement video I shared yesterday. Their dresses were adorable – they looked like little fairies!

The girls gathered around Jess to pray for her, but she ended up blessing them even more!

Jess read Sam’s handwritten love letters before writing her vows.

    0086_gatlynwed.JPG

One of my favorite little details of this wedding was that Jess loves to make jewelry, so each of her bridesmaids borrowed a piece of from her collection and wore it on the wedding day. They all carried a piece of her beauty and creativity with them!

Jess’ beautiful dress, on the left, a Moravian star.

Jess bought her dress at a shop in Dallas that is going to be the focus of a new reality series on WEtv called “Girl Meets Gown”. There was a crew at the wedding filming and they are going to use some of my images in the segment, airing March 9th. I don’t get WE anymore, so I’ll be looking for someone to invite me over! :D

I just fell in love with Jess and Sam’s parents! This is Jess’ mom.

It’s difficult to know where to start sharing about this wedding.

Do I start with telling you about my friend Beka, sister of the groom, who I started out mentoring in photography and has now become on of my best friends? Or do I start with Jess and Sam’s amazing love story, how they got engaged in Cesarea, Israel (watch the engagement video) and how they only kissed ONCE before they were married? How about Moravian Falls, NC, and the site where the wedding took place, with lovely old barns and a clearing in the woods? Or should I share about how there were HORSES involved in the wedding? Or maybe I should tell you about the 17 bridesmaids, and 13 groomsmen, who are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met? Like I said, it’s hard to know where to start. :)

In September, I got on a plane and spent 5 wonderful days in the mountains, getting to know an exceptional group of people, and photograph the most amazing wedding I’ve ever, ever seen. It was such a privilege and honor to have been invited into this event. Samuel is a recording artist (visit his MySpace) and Jessica is an artist, painter, and crafter, and they are both incredibly expressive and freely share their feelings. It was like a dream to have so much emotion to capture…

I arrived a few days early so I could spend time with everyone and document the preparations for this event. Part 1 of sharing this wedding is images from the day before the wedding. I have never seen a group of friends and family work so hard to make a dream come true. The barn where the reception was held was just an old barn, full of stuff, and they transformed it into a dreamlike setting.
