For Matt and Sarah’s session, we headed to some areas near downtown St. Paul where I’ve never shot before. I get SO inspired by new locations, but what was really special about this session was the visible love between Matt and Sarah. There is such a tenderness between them that the photography was simply effortless.

Sarah sent me this sweet e-mail after sharing the photos with others:

Just thought I’d let you know that I have been showing people from work the engagement photos and they all love them, and one girl said she almost felt like crying they were so good! Also, another girl told me a horror story involving her photographer which reminded me how grateful I am that I have a good photographer! so thanks again for everything, and we will see you soon!”

I feel grateful to have them as clients and can’t wait for their wedding day!

Oh my, where do I start? Tracy and I attend a small home church with Phil and Jen. I didn’t know them very well before becoming their wedding photographer, and now consider them dear, sweet friends. I am so thankful God brought them into our lives and connected us through this experience.

Being a part of their wedding day was a truly amazing experience. The sheer range of emotion and beauty displayed throughout the day made my job…well…not feel like a job. I felt like I was invited into the hearts and lives of these two people and all their wonderful family and friends. I could go on, but I would probably start crying and repeating descriptors like “wonderful” and “amazing” and you would all just skip to the photos anyway. ;)

I am going to have to make this a 2 part blog post because we did some special photography at this wedding that deserves a post all its own.

Phil and Jen got married in her hometown of Spring Valley, Minnesota at the Tree House Garden Center. Their reception was at the Spring Valley Community Center.

The music was performed by musicians from our house church. They were awesome!

Andy and I have been friends since he was 16 years old! We went to the MN Horse Expo with some mutual friends of our. I bought an english saddle partway through the day and Andy carried it around for me. I thought he was quite a guy! We have remained good friends through the years and I was SO excited when he started telling me about this girl he was dating named Jasmine. I knew right away from the twinkle in his eye, that she was going to be the one!

I had only met Jasmine once before our session, so it was really a fun time of getting to know her and getting to explore their love for each other through my photography. I just don’t know that I could be happier or more excited for two people to get married and start their life’s journey together!

We did the session at a cabin deep in the woods. It had just rained, so we bathed ourselves in mosquito repellant and ventured out!

Andy brought his dog Chloe along to be in some of the photos. Doesn’t she have cool ears?

The couple’s first house. It’s small, but cozy. ;)

As we drove back to town, we found this great gate with a beautiful field across the road.

Used the tilt-shift with this one and got a pretty unusual result, but I like it!
