In December, I photographed the staff of Oak Realty, in Annandale MN. I built their web site a couple of years ago, and they wanted to update the staff photos on the site with more casual, natural photos.

We were able to use a beautiful lake home with tall windows as our location. The light was soft and beautiful and the staff was a lot of fun to work with!

It was snowing pretty hard the day we did the shoot, so we decided to brave an outdoor photo.
They used this on their Christmas card this year:

Well, we made it to Kansas City safe and sound and are getting settled in. It was over 60 degrees here yesterday, but just like in MN, the bottom dropped out and it is 14 with snow today.

A couple of weeks before leaving, I had a session with 14 month-old “E”. When I took my camera out, she started crying. Oh dear, that’s not a great way to start things off. I just started taking photos of the family cats, which warmed her up to the idea. After that, we had a great time. She is really charming and funny!

This one looks so classic to me. It’s one going on my list of all-time favorite shots.

Today’s photos are from a photo session for Mirabella Farms last October. I photographed their Morgan Stallion “High Q Qua-lity” and a 2007 Morgan colt by the name of “Mirabella’s Moulin Rouge”. The day was sunny and beautiful until I showed up to shoot and clouds gathered over the sun. I made the most of it and actually liked the results of the softer light.

The goal of the shoot was to get both action photos and head shots that will be used for marketing.
