The first time I met Sarah, she was sitting in a high chair. I was struck by her gorgeous big brown eyes! It’s been a joy to watch her grow into a beautiful young woman and accomplished dancer.
Her parents are friends of ours and asked if I would come to Kansas City last spring to photograph her senior dance recital and her senior portraits. I feel like a broken record telling you about the weather, but it was the end of March and it snowed 10+ inches that weekend in Kansas City. So I rented a beautiful studio for Sarah’s portraits and have no regrets. It offered beautiful light and plenty of room for her to do some of her dance moves for the camera.
I invited two photographers in the area whom I have been mentoring to join me in photographing Sarah. We had a fantastic time together!
Do you see what I mean with those eyes?
This is my favorite from the session. I love the grain of the wood and her beautiful pose.
These are some photos from her recital. I looooove watching and photographing dance!
This last image was from the portrait session. It was actually a test shot, but this pensive moment made for one of my favorite images.
