On a chilly, rainy April afternoon, Amanda and Shaneez had their fifth and final wedding ceremony at the Minneapolis Women’s Club. Right now you’re probably thinking, “Wait! Their fifth?” Yep, before their Minneapolis celebration with their US friends and family, they had two ceremonies in Abu Dhabi, where they met, and two ceremonies in India, where Shaneez is from.
Amanda is an autism specialist and had the opportunity to move to Abu Dhabi to teach. While working there, she met Shaneez through mutual friends. His kind, fun-loving, outgoing personality clicked with her sweet, giving, fun-loving personality and they fell in love. Their cultural differences made for some interesting challenges on the road to becoming husband and wife, but in overcoming them, I believe they grew even closer.
This was one of those weddings where throughout the day, I felt more like a guest with a camera than a hired photographer. Amanda and Shaneez and their family and friends embraced us and made us feel like part of their inner circle. I’ll always remember that about this day, along with deep feeling of love and affection every guest had for this couple.
Shaneez wore this regal blue jacket from India. He looked very sharp in it!
Tiff’s great photo!
The Women’s Club has some lovely windows for rainy day portraits. :)
Shaneez got choked up during his vows. So sweet!
Another great photo by Tiff!
One of my favorite parts of every wedding is the toasts. There are always so many fun moments and emotions!
These friends were Amanda’s roommates in Abu Dhabi. They had some pretty great stories to tell!
This dear friend of Amanda’s family had us all in tears.
Several of Shaneez’ friends from India came all the way to the US for this ceremony. They were so much fun!
What’s a wedding with Indian elements without some fun dancing??
