I love the James family! Jennifer and I met first through reading each other’s blogs and eventually became friends IRL (In Real Life) – what a blessing! I’ve photographed them several times over the years from Jennifer’s maternity photos when she was pregnant with their oldest, to his baby photos, to portraits of Jennifer to celebrate her weight loss, and now their sweet little family of four, on the brink of becoming a family of five. Jennifer found out just days before the session that she’s expecting. :)
The main reason I was in Kansas City this trip was to run a 5K with Jennifer. It’s the first 5K I’ve ever run and we had a fantastic time doing it! Here’s a photo of us before the run. I’ll spare you the one after – ha ha! :)
Also on this trip, Aaron photographed ME to celebrate my weight loss (still in progress)! You can see some of the images on Aaron’s Blog. Aaron shoots all “Analog” (read: film) and is such a talented artist. We’re doing another session soon in a more natural setting. :) Here’s one of my favorites from the first one:
On to the James family! My approach to family photography is similar to my approach to wedding photography – capture life as it happens. It’s mostly unscripted and more fun for young kids because there’s not as much pressure to smile for the camera. I do the “smiling-at-the-camera” pictures too, but they happen naturally throughout the session. For more on these sessions, visit the Slice of Life Session page on my web site.
I did a few head shots for Aaron that he can use on his web site and social networking. :)
Tickle time is the best!
