When someone books a session, I usually don’t scope the location in advance. Most of my clients are a considerable distance away and I’ve gotten pretty good at working with just about any type of location. So when my GPS “Jean” led me to the Rold property, I got a little giddy because it was SO beautiful! Large trees, wood fencing, perfect weather, horses that are loved, and a photogenic family…it was the recipe for a great session.

The tractor was this boy’s “horse,” so he wanted his picture taken on it!

I didn’t have to work very hard to get them to smile here – their son was sitting behind me making faces at them!

This photo just makes me laugh!

Even when I do a portrait-focused session with horses, I always like to try and get some good photos of my clients’ horses at liberty.
